Cage Match: Kylar Stern v. Julia Wicker

Sadly, I wasn’t able to write this week’s Cage Match because I have one week to turn in my copyedits for The Blinding Knife. However, Suvudu wrote up the fight between Kylar Stern and Lev Grossman’s Julia. Check it out HERE and vote for who you think would win!

(Also, a new poll is up!)

  1. sad that you couldn’t do the writeup, but it was a great one nonetheless! Go Kylar!

  2. I also thought it was a good write up. Having Kylar flash back to being Azoth was very nice touch, I thought.
On a sort of unrelated note, I had no problem voting this week. Mainly becuase I have never heard of Lev Grossman’s book. I’m sure it’s a good book, I just haven’t heard of it or the author……….Maybe it’s time I started reading more fantasy………..

  3. No Solon in the poll. I am disappoint.

If I was into guys, I’d go Solon.

    • I must agree with you there. I sadly found the poll lacking this week. If Jarl, Solon, or Dorian were in the poll I would have been much happier voting……..But out of the four, Logan would be the only one I’d take on a date. Ah well, could be a lot worse. (considering Gintoki is the name of a male character in a manga I like, this does sound a little odd does it not?)

  4. LOL we don’t even need to vote anymore
Kylar’s won this match, hands down! :)

  5. Is it actually possible for Kylar to be beaten by anyone in this roster? Most of the characters seem to all rely on magic too much which our very own Black Kakari must be enjoying, and most of the others aren’t physically capable of taking out a wetboy who can turn invisible. Eh, if Saphira wins her fight and gets pitted against Kylar I would really like to see how it turns out- Saphira is strong enough and fast enough- plus her fire would make a delicious snack of Kylar. On top of that he wouldn’t be able to hide from her invisibly on account of her ability to read minds and dominate them…

I want to see a cage match between Kylar and Cthluhu. That would be one for the ages!

    • I was hoping to see Kylar and Jardir (from the Demon Cycle by Peter V. Brett) To go head to head in the finals. Both are trained warriors and have fought their own battles. Saphira, Kylar, Anamandor Rake (or something like that), and Erevis Cale are all the ones that seem like they could win. Erevis Cale is Kylar’s next match and get this, he holds power over the shadows and is a reformed assassin too. Kylar will have to beat him to move on and Anomander Rake has won and I think Zaphod beat Saphira, which annoys me immensely. Anomander is a Human/Dragon shapeshifer so if him and kylar go head to head it will be pretty interesting.

      • His next match against Erevis Cale is going to be interesting to say the least since both have similar skill sets. I feel that Kylar can adapt to situations better and is a better fighter when it comes down to it. But as was pointed out in Kylar’s fight with Harry Potter, it’s about the fans. If we look at the numbers it gets a little hairy. In the first and second rounds, Cale came out on top with 939 and 831 votes respectively. If he pulls those numbers again, its a cake walk. If Cale pulls the whopping 5,252 from his third round match then we’ve got issues. Definitely going to need to check back often and get all hands on deck for this one. Regardless of how it ends up though, it’s going to be one hell of a read.

  6. Nice cage matches, I especially like how Kylar uses his many different techniques to kill the enemies as opposed to the same thing over and over again.

One questions though… if he dies will he.. you know? That would kinda be OP besides the obivous downside

Also can’t wait for Blinding Knife. (:

Keep up the good work and the hilarious Kylar cage matches.

  7. 1 Saphira and Kylar would be badass 2 Brent gets into his video games haha
