Night Angel Omnibus — Coming Soon!

I’m delighted to announce the The Night Angel omnibus, coming in trade paperback from Orbit in April.

You can go here for some thoughts from Kirk Benshoff, the cover designer, and here, here, or here to pre-order. The omnibus will also feature a deleted chapter, an extensive glossary and a character list.

Epic! Will there be an omnibus e-book by chance? I might have to by this regardless but I was just curious.

    1. brent says:

As far as I understand, yes. (Of course, there is one right now, but I’m assuming you’re asking if there will be one that has all of the extras.)

    2. a big fan says:

Brent you should have wrote at least one more book for the Night Angel trilogy. I mean Kylar Stern was a great character and the books were wonderful but the ending to beyond the shadows left me with so many questions about Kylar the twins Jeni was going to have and the kingdom Logan was going to rule.

  2. Isabelle says:

    Yaay! I’m born in April!

  3. Isabelle says:

Will it be available in the UK?

    1. brent says:

For some mysterious reason, no. I don’t know if my UK sales don’t justify it at this point, or if the sheer size of the thing makes it cost prohibitive, or what, but if you want it, you’re going to have to get some online US retailer to send it to you. Sorry!

  4. Fuu says:

Oooooh I can see the shiny-ness :O Really like the black!

  5. Nat says:

    It’s the Ceur’Caelestos!

  6. Ryan says:

Love it. What a great cover! I WANT THIS NOW!

  7. robert says:

Why is ceur’caelestos on the cover shouldn’t it be retrobution? But its still bad ass

    1. brent says:

Yeah, the sword isn’t perfect. Orbit did try a few things when I pointed this out. But ultimately, in their judgement, this was the best cover image to drive the most sales.

      1. Cody says:

Yeah, this is definitely not how I imagined Ceur’caestelo. Or mistarael (sp? Don’t have the book with me, I’m at work). These books deserve better but I will buy this nonetheless. I love this trilogy.

  8. karl says:

    HOw thick will it be?

    1. brent says:

About THIS thick. You can see how far apart my hands are, right?

      1. K.G. Poulsen says:

OMFG!!!!!! that’s huge don´t think it will fit in mail box or in any shelf.

      2. Deikon holden 6th grader says:

im in 6th grade and i love the trilogy

  9. Terry says:

Oh my gosh! This comes out on my birthday! I am super excited about this. Any chance of a hardcover omnibus?

  10. Sam says:

Will there ever be hardback editions of the night angel books released?
(or have i just missed their existance entirely)

    1. Ryan D. says:

There was a hardcover omnibus released for a book club that you can find online if you search for it. They are pricey, but well worth it if you can get one. I bought mine for about $60 but i’ve seen them for as high as $200. I was lucky enough to take mine when I met Mr. Weeks and he signed it for me. It now has a special place in my collection.

    Dear Brent,

as you know I am (like everybody that come to visit your site) a big fan.
Night Angel trilogy is my favourite saga …

Since I am studying computer science and information, I was ‘ordered’ (okay, it’s a project we need to do, but still ..) to do something more advanced then what we were used to do. Me, I’m a big book fan, I love texts and I’m a bit writer myself (hopefully the books will be published somewhere else then internet) … and I chose to write a program, that reads texts (since my computer isn’t all high tech, I only picked chapters) and orders them by how similar they are to each other. I went with Poe, Martin, Wilde, Twain and you of course (a couple of chaps from NA).

I need to show my final product to my teacher in two days, but since I feel so much into it and since I can do whatever I want to it, seeing that I’m the author of my own program, I will post the end result (maybe even a bit improved) and linked one of my comments to it, so you may see. I’m thinking comparing the whole books, to whole books of other authors (but not Martin … I don’t want my computer to fry itself). Or just Black Prism and the Way of Shadows etc. etc.

Any fan of Weeks is invited to check, when I manage to post it.

Just wanted to let you know how much of an inspiration you can be. =)

    1. brent says:

Cool! Thank you. Let me know when you’re done.

  12. Adam Lane says:

    I don’t like the picture, it’s not at all how i imagined Ceur’Caelestos =(

  13. Matt says:

Ceur’Caelestos should be a lot fancier, it’s a sword that only one man in the whole world can make and that very few can actually use. But that’s beside the point, this is a great idea. I just received my copy of Perfect Shadow (433 I think) and it’s beautiful! I haven’t read it yet but my best friend has and loved it.

    1. brent says:

      Adam, Matt,
Yeah, the sword isn’t exactly as described in Night Angel; as I said above, Orbit tried a few different things, and ended up liking this image best.

      1. Daniel says:

It’s a shame that you, as the author and creator of the series, don’t get more choice. 🙁

Someone as absolutely brilliant as you deserves to have their vision met to a T!

  14. Axel says:

What is this that I see? a Night Angel omnibus? not in the UK? bah….I curse my own country 😛

    Alas.
It seems i shall have to travel the world in search of this Holy text, or use the internet 😀

    Thank you Brent
    The UK salutes you

  15. Tyler says:

Ugh… curse you Brent (not really). When I first glanced this over I didn’t get overly excited, seeing as how I already own The Night Angel Trilogy, but you just had to add in a deleted chapter and those other things didn’t you? I’m a huge sucker for glossaries and character lists and never-before-read material. I have to buy it now…

  16. David says:

Can’t wait to get my hands on the omnibus. Thank you Brent, honestly I was so inspired by Acaelus Thorne and your books to write again. I lost my ability for it about seven years ago and haven’t written anything. Since finishing The Night Angel trilogy over a year ago I began writing short stories to kind of get back into it, but I’m hopeful I’ll get my first book done one day. Planning stages, any advice on how to make that go smoothly?

  17. Joshua Saylor says:

OMG i just finished the Night Angel Trilogy for the fifth time and now i have to get the Perfect Shadow and the Omnibus! There goes my grades this term, way too much extra reading i need to do now!

  18. Joshua Saylor says:

And even though the publishers said that cover would sell best i would have thought the cover would be a picture of Durzo and Kylar.

  19. Abrar Ahsan says:

shit, its the blade of heaven, can i get a free copy?? 😛
its awesome, sadly im 2 far for ordering online, or even getting it in stores :'(

  20. Ron says:

    SPOILERS below -ed.

Was wondering when we will find out what happened with Kylar’s child and between him and Vi. Also I was looking at the character list and when it mentioned Momma K shouldn’t part of the description have said Shinga, and that Uly was Momma K’s.

    1. brent says:

As explained in the book, that’s to avoid spoilers. Our understanding of a number of characters changes a lot over the course of the series.

  21. Matt says:

    Hey Brent!

I love your books, I just finished the last one yesterday. I was wondering if you were going to make it possible to read the extra chapter without buying the Omnibus? I already own all three books, and since I’m in college I’m not sure I can justify the expense. I already bought the black prism, and I’m reading it right now!
    Thanks!
Ps. You should definitely write another book, perhaps dealing with the Hunter having a cult getting it the objects of power. I’d love to see more of the characters and how they develop.

  22. Danni says:

    Hey Brent!
I’m so excited at the prospects of a follow up from the first 3 books…can’t wait!
After reading the 3 books that I borrowed from a friend, I immediately bought them all for my hubby and he loves them just as much!
Will u ever come to South Africa to release it? If I could have a signed copy of any of the Night Angel books I’ll die a happy girl!

  23. Dom says:

    Hey Brent.
I know you’re busy writing the final book of the lightbringer series, but please, when you’re finished with the lightbringer series, go back to writing the Night Angel series!!! Do this before you get too old to write books. Even if it takes a couple of years. I will buy this book and I’ll even give you a nice donation!
The Night Angel Trilogy will ALWAYS be my favourite book. Hope you have a great future, best wishes Dom!

  24. matt says:

    Brent,

The dragon tattoo that came to Logans arm, the book didn’t elaborate of exactly what it was or how it got there…can you do this for me …I just finished the books and wow they were amazing

  25. christopher says:

when they going to make this into a movie or tv show? it would be epic granted movies always leave out or change something still if you could make it into a tv series i bet it would give game of thrones a run for their money. for those who dont know what a wetboy is you hardly ever see assasins that use magic or a story where the lines are so blurred between good and evil. it just pulls you in and wont let you go
